Security

Security is part of the service design.

IronSpark’s approach is to manage the communications path and reduce unnecessary exposure rather than treating security as an optional checkbox after the phone system is installed.

Managed private connectivity

IronSpark uses WireGuard and OpenVPN to provide encrypted private connectivity between supported customer endpoints and the IronSpark environment, rather than simply exposing those endpoints directly to the public Internet.

Controlled infrastructure

Voice, routing and management functions are separated by role so access and troubleshooting can be more deliberate.

Operational visibility

Monitoring and diagnostics are part of operating the platform, helping us identify abnormal conditions without asking the customer to become a network engineer.

Security should make the customer safer without making the customer’s workday harder.
Why VPN-based connectivity

Encryption is built into the communications path.

WireGuard and OpenVPN let IronSpark create encrypted private paths for supported endpoints. That gives us a controlled way to connect Grandstream desk phones and Zoiper softphones to the service while reducing unnecessary direct exposure to the public Internet.

WireGuard

A modern VPN option used for efficient encrypted private connectivity.

OpenVPN

An additional supported VPN option for encrypted private connectivity where it fits the endpoint or deployment.

Managed by IronSpark

We configure and support the communications path so customers do not have to become VPN or phone-system administrators.
